Oh wait--one more! A fairly important off-stage character has disappeared, and the story is that he committed suicide. What *actually* happened to him is revealed at the end, and it's something rather unexpected.
It's discussed in the context of the pressures of the academy, but with an appropriate amount of weight--neither glorifying nor minimizing. There is one other death that is supposedly a suicide, but it's revealed that it was actually murder. Hope that helps!
